About the Education Database

The database presented here was compliled by the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and downloaded from http://SchoolData.org. This database has school level data which was aggregagted to the district level using weighted averages. The database here contains test results and number of test takers broken down by math and reading, student subgroup (20 plus total), and grade (2-12) for 2002-2005 as well as demographic information.

The demographic parameters are refered to with parameters such as 'WHITE' for percent of white students. Following the AIR notation, the test parameters are refered to via an 8 character code. The available parameters vary from state to state. A complete list of parameters for each state is given on the query page for that state. View available parameters for Massachusetts
